Coalie Park skatepark is designed as a "micro skate spot" with the intention of providing a mixed-use skateable facility providing both a place to skate and also a place that people may travel through and visit, sit and enjoy the location.
The intention is to regenerate the area that it is built in, improve the general environment and biodiversity of the area as well. So it's definitely not your typical skatepark.
It offers an unusual tight bowled area with seating / benches inside providing some good carving practice. There is a larger flat ground area with a bank to curb with hip on one side leading up to the bowl area, a quarter pipe at one end, a wider quarter at the other end and a long ledge, giving a wee bit of mix street plaza / transition features.
